Busting Limiting Beliefs (Part 2)

I have a confession to make. There is no foolproof way to bust a limiting belief by reading and taking action on a blog post.

However, if you followed the steps in Busting limiting beliefs (Part 1) you will definitely have begun the process of loosening those limiting beliefs that are holding you back.

The words we say to ourselves both consciously and unconsciously are incredibly powerful and have a direct effect on how we live our lives. Using the power of language to transform a limiting belief into an empowering one is a great way to ‘try on’ the new belief.

Take a sheet of paper and write out your answers to the steps below:

State the limiting belief e.g. I’m not good at delegating.

State the linguistic opposite e.g. I’m great at delegating.

Add a word or two to turn this belief into a process and open up the possibility e.g. I will master delegation.

Add motivation to the statement e.g. I look forward to mastering delegation with ease and grace.

Now imagine living for 24 hours with this statement being true for you. What do you notice? Take it further by imagining a time when you will actually be using this belief. What’s happening? What’s different?

How do you bust limiting beliefs?
